Implementation guidelines
Monitors
- Height: adjustable, ideally 48 to 72 inches from the ground.
- Angle: tiltable — ideally 30 degrees from center, up and down.
- Brightness: easily adjusted.
Tables
- Height: on-the-fly adjustable (sit/stand desk style). Approximately 28–48 inches range so wheelchairs can roll under.
- Sturdy: able to support someone of substantial weight leaning on it.
- Color and contrast: stand out in darker rooms so guests don’t trip or collide.
Cleanliness
Wipes- Sanitizing wipes at every station for before-and-after use.
- Provide a receptacle for used wipes.
- Staff should monitor stations and wipe as needed.
- Every station has hand sanitizer available, ideally in an automatic dispenser.
Controllers
Standard controllers- Minimum of two controllers per station for co-pilot play.
- Long cables — at least 3 feet from the edge of the table.
- Every station should have an XBOX Adaptive Controller present, or immediate access to cables to connect one.
- Have a variety of buttons, switches, and joysticks readily available for staff when an adaptive setup is required.
- Buttons should have Velcro backing, with lapboards for mounting.
Accessibility info
Title-specific- Each station displays a QR code with a short URL (and braille underneath) linking to the demo’s accessibility information. The linked page doesn’t need final content — just what settings this demo includes. Short URLs let you redirect for different pages and reuse the signs, since printing braille is expensive.
Seating
- Provide seating, or easy access to folding chairs, for guests who have difficulty standing for extended periods.
