The Supported Languages feature within the Gaming Metadata module lets you indicate the in-game languages your product supports. Offering languages increases the number of players who can play your game by providing an experience that feels intuitive to them. The Gaming Metadata module is designed to empower you to connect with players by directly showcasing specific features of your content. Here we’ll walk through the options on the Supported Languages page and what you should consider when entering information.

In-game localization

In-game localization allows you to tell customers what languages your product supports in-game. Each language has Interface, Audio, and Subtitles as options. Interface

Selecting this checkbox indicates that your game controls, menu items, and other UI elements are localized in the respective language.

Audio

Selecting this checkbox indicates that the spoken audio within the game is localized in the respective language.

Subtitles

Selecting this checkbox indicates that any game subtitles are localized in the respective language. For the capabilities listed above, if the language specific content is small, it isn’t necessary to indicate that the language is supported. When evaluating the localization support for a particular language, consider if the game is playable from start to finish in a player’s native language. You can make changes to the selected languages at any time.

Market-specific packages, additional downloads, and supported localization

Your game may be configured for distribution in a way that makes use of market-specific packages with only a subset of the complete localization represented for your product. Your title might also require additional downloads (for example, “language packs”), or user actions in-title that download/install additional available localization. By selecting the box, your PDP displays a standard message to customers, informing them that the package they download might not include the entire collection of localization support displayed in the Store.
