This path is for teams building their game in Unreal Engine. You’ll install a special XBOX plug-in for Unreal that talks to the GDK for you — most of your day-to-day work stays in the Unreal editor.
Is this the right path for you? Pick this if your game is (or will be) an Unreal project. If you’re using a different engine, see Unity or community engines. If you’re not using an engine at all, pick a device path like XBOX Series X|S.

Before you start

Make sure the following are in place. If anything is missing, go back to the Home guided path.
  • ID@XBOX onboarding complete — NDA signed, concept approved, Partner Center registered. See ID@XBOX onboarding.
  • Dev PC ready — Visual Studio, Windows SDK, and the GDK installed. See Setup & install.
  • A working Unreal project locally (any recent UE 5.x version).
  • XBOX GDK plug-in for Unreal available in your Epic account (granted via ID@XBOX). See Unreal setup.
  • Partner Center product — with the appropriate device rows checked (Retail / Desktop / handheld).
