# ID3D12DeviceRemovedExtendedDataSettings

> This interface controls Device Removed Extended Data (DRED) settings.

This interface controls Device Removed Extended Data (DRED) settings. You should configure all DRED settings before you create a Direct3D 12 device. To retrieve the **ID3D12DeviceRemovedExtendedDataSettings** interface, call [D3D12GetDebugInterface](/reference/graphics/d3d12/functions/d3d12getdebuginterface_public), passing the interface identifier (IID) of **ID3D12DeviceRemovedExtendedDataSettings**.

## Inheritance

The **ID3D12DeviceRemovedExtendedDataSettings** interface inherits from the [IUnknown](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/api/unknwn/nn-unknwn-iunknown) interface.
