# GetShapeFiltVolQ

# GetShapeFiltVolQ

Gets the Q (quality) factor.

## Syntax

```cpp theme={null}
float GetShapeFiltVolQ(  
         const SHAPE_FILTVOL_CONTEXT* context  
)  
```

### Parameters

*context*   \_In\_\
Type: [SHAPE\_FILTVOL\_CONTEXT](/reference/audio/shapefiltvolcontext/structs/shape_filtvol_context)\*

Pointer to a [SHAPE\_FILTVOL\_CONTEXT](/reference/audio/shapefiltvolcontext/structs/shape_filtvol_context) object.

### Return value

Type: float

The Q factor.

## Remarks

The Filter/Volume (FLTVOL) block is implemented as a Chamberlin filter. The greater the value of Q, the narrower the bandwidth of the filter. To change the value of Q, use [SetShapeFiltVolQ](/reference/audio/shapefiltvolcontext/functions/setshapefiltvolq).

The filtering behavior is designed to be identical to that in XAudio2.
