# GetShapeFiltVolMode

# GetShapeFiltVolMode

Gets the mode of the state variable filter.

## Syntax

```cpp theme={null}
SHAPE_FILTER_MODE GetShapeFiltVolMode(  
         const SHAPE_FILTVOL_CONTEXT* context  
)  
```

### Parameters

*context*   \_In\_\
Type: [SHAPE\_FILTVOL\_CONTEXT](/reference/audio/shapefiltvolcontext/structs/shape_filtvol_context)\*

Pointer to a [SHAPE\_FILTVOL\_CONTEXT](/reference/audio/shapefiltvolcontext/structs/shape_filtvol_context) object.

### Return value

Type: SHAPE\_FILTER\_MODE

A member of the [SHAPE\_FILTER\_MODE](/reference/audio/shapefiltvolcontext/enums/shape_filter_mode) enumeration.

## Remarks

The Filter/Volume (FLTVOL) block is implemented as a Chamberlin filter. It provides three filtering modes (low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass) and a bypass mode. To change the mode, use [SetShapeFiltVolMode](/reference/audio/shapefiltvolcontext/functions/setshapefiltvolmode).

The filtering behavior is designed to be identical to that in XAudio2.
